Love Island rejects hook up after failing to meet in villa
SMITTEN Love Island couple Zara Lackenby-brown and Jordan Odofin have hit out at the show for not setting them up.
They say they feel robbed after never meeting in the villa despite being perfect for each other “on paper”.
The pair entered the villa two weeks apart but missed each other by one day.
And they have only found romance by taking matters into their own hands.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Mirror Zara, 25, said: “They knew Jordan was my type before I even walked in. I left the villa thinking my dream man doesn’t exist – and days after, Jordan arrives.
“I understand they have storylines to follow but I deserved to find love in there.” Jordan, 28, entered the South African villa on Day 17. Zara had been voted out the day before.
The senior HR advisor said he went in expecting to couple up with the bombshell – only to discover she had gone.
He said: “Before going in I was asked for my top three and I said Zara was my number one.
“Naturally I was looking
for her and expected her there. It made my experience very different – I was in a friendship couple the whole time.” The pair were able to crack on after he told of his feelings for Zara on Love Island’s sister show, Aftersun.
He went to message her on social media afterwards – and found her already typing to him.
The couple had their first public date together last week at Aqua Kyoto in London’s Soho.
Zara said of the romantic meal: “He was such a gentleman, he got
me a taxi there and back and paid for the meal. I obviously don’t expect guys to do that but it was really nice of him.”
Asked about another date Jordan said: “Absolutely – we’re thinking mini golf. We’re taking things a day at a time.”
Zara was caught up in a bullying row in the villa after a game of truth or dare – when her love match Tom Clare, 23, said rival Olivia Hawkins, 27, had the best face while Zara had the best body.
Dozens took to Twitter to slam the show, including former Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati.
Zara said: “I had quite a hard run of it. I had a girl drama I didn’t ask for – we all knew it was nothing personal.”
