Do I fear? No I don’t fear no man

SHAMED socialite Marcus Sweeney has THANKED the Criminal Assets Bureau just days after agreeing to hand over land as part of a €100,000 legal settlement.

The Celtic Tiger restaurateur, who was previously described by a High Court judge as being “up to his oxters” in organised crime, reacted to the ruling on the Co Meath land via Tiktok.

He said: “No one’s ever done this. I’d like to thank CAB... I’d like to thank [name], the State solicitor.

“I’d like to thank the legal system. Oxters, I won’t forget you.

“I’d like to thank the garda commissioner – I want two doors and a window for what you did to my house.”

Recording the video in what appears to be a hotel lobby the 45-year-old went on to thank his family, the media, his friends and “my little tiger cubs”.

Sweeney added: “What a journey this has been... No one’s ever said what I’ve said about these people.

“Do I fear? I don’t fear no man... but I fear anything that is put on anyone I care about.

They should fear me because I’m not going to let this happen any more.”

He signs off with: “Take care, I love you all and goodbye.”

On Wednesday, EWM Property Holdings Ltd, a company CAB says was founded by Sweeney, agreed to vacate land it purchased for €102,000 by 11am on April 4.

Mr Justice Alexander Owens said the firm appeared to be involved in what he described as a “highly dubious investment scheme”.

He said money given by investors was used for a different purpose, meaning the property was purchased with the proceeds of crime.

The court earlier heard allegations Sweeney had business dealings with convicted heroin dealer Brian Grendon, from major drugs gang The Family.

Sweeney, who ran Pomo D’oro on Dublin’s South William Street before a receiver was appointed in 2007, previously dated Katy French, a model who died tragically from a cocaine overdose just days after her 24th birthday in December 2007.
