Perrie puts everything in the Mix

-

She’s trying every sound she can so fans won’t be disappointed

The gloves are very much off for Little Mix in their race to solo stardom.

Days after bandmate Leigh-anne Pinnock became the first to tease solo music, we can reveal Perrie Edwards is hot on her heels, having recruited no fewer than 11 superstar producers and songwriters for her debut album.

After ex-bandmate Jesy Nelson’s solo career flatlined, Perrie – mum to 22-month-old Axel – has been working hard to ensure her own offering rises above the competition.

A source says: “Perrie has a revolving door of hitmakers at her home studio in Cheshire, writing with everyone from Raye to legendary hitmaker Steve Mac – who boasts 31 No1 singles in the UK alone – as well as obscure US rock band Before You Exit.

“She’s experimenting with every sound out there and churning out hits. Only the best will make the cut… she’s ensuring fans won’t be disappointed.”

Perrie, who is engaged to footballer Alex Oxlade-chamberlain, has already registered a song called Same Place, Different View with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

The long list of collaborators, revealed on the right, shows Perrie – who was snapped up by label Columbia – is not shying away from trying different genres.

Leigh-anne – rumoured to have support on her track from Stormzy – will be the next to release a solo album via her deal with Warner Music.

Meanwhile Jade Thirlwall, who is signed to Sony’s RCA, will be last off the blocks after taking a break from music following the band’s hiatus a year ago.

The girls are all said to be treading carefully after Jesy’s single Bad Thing – her first since leaving label Polydor – failed to chart in the UK Top 100 last month.
