Have I been in love triangle? Certainly not

...but Charlotte loves ‘juicy’ plots in Corrie

CORRIE star Charlotte Jordan says she is relishing playing a “juicy” love triangle – because it is so far removed from her “unproblematic” life in the real world.

The actress, 28, wants ITV bosses to throw plots with “all the problems, all the chaos” at her so that she can have fun performing them.

Charlotte has just won the gong for Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards for her part in a harrowing acid attack story.

Her character, Daisy Midgeley, was targeted by stalker Justin (Andrew Still) but Ryan Connor was doused as he protected her.

And last week a conflicted Daisy, engaged to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), shared a kiss with injured Ryan (Ryan Prescott).

Speaking about the scenario at the awards, Charlotte, thought to be in a relationship, said: “Have I ever been in a real-life love triangle? Certainly not!

“My life is unproblematic, it’s not chaotic, it’s not messy – I mind my business. But that means it’s great fun to play, I love it. I’m like [to the bosses], ‘Throw me all the problems, all the chaos.’ It is quite a juicy love triangle, and I don’t know how it ends, so it will be fun to watch how that plays out.” Charlotte collected two more gongs for Corrie at the Manchester ceremony because the acid attack plot also won Scene of the Year and Best Single Episode. The star, who with Ryan spoke to stalking victims to prepare for their traumatic scenes, was overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the plot. “It wasn’t a direction I thought the writers would take Daisy in,” she admitted. “It was better than I could have hoped for – also devastating. “And it’s horrific how many people go through that. We tried our best to do the storyline as truthfully and authentically as we could. “I’m really proud of everyone for doing such a good job.” Charlotte also revealed how she shakes off filming the gruelling scenes, saying: “That’s no problem at all – I talk to my dog and have a glass of wine.”
