We’re no Maya & Stormzy ..I’ll never go back to Jake
Now Love Islander Liberty is free to choose from a host of All-stars
Host Maya in South Africa
LOVE Islander Liberty Poole definitely won’t be following in Maya Jama’s romantic footsteps when she returns to the show tomorrow.
For while presenter Maya is happily reunited with her former fiance Stormzy, Liberty says there is no way she will be getting back together with villa villain Jake Cornish.
The ex-couple will meet again in the first series of Love Island: All-stars, in which ex-contestants get another chance to find love.
But Jake, 26, broke 24-year-old Liberty’s heart when they were on the ITV show in 2021 and she insists there can be no second time around for them.
It’s a different story for Maya, 29, and grime star Stormzy, 30, who split in 2019 but rekindled their romance last year. Liberty said: “I think they’re an amazing power couple...they really suit.
“But with me and Jake, maybe not so much! There was reasons why we ended...based on incompatibility.”
She and Jake were favourites to win. But they split after he hinted he was not attracted to her and the pair quit the island
But Liberty has no regrets. She said: “That was the first time I’d ever put myself first. When things didn’t feel quite right in the relationship, I did just kind of choose myself. I think I did the right thing.”
She added there is “no bad blood” between her and Jake. But Liberty is hoping for better things in the villa near Cape Town, South Africa. She said: “I’m looking to explore other connections – with new islanders.”
Love Island: All-stars kicks off on Virgin Media Two at 9pm tomorrow.
