Louis urged Karen to join a band...she hasn’t a note
TV judge tells dancer she would be success as she ‘looked great’
JAKE Carter revealed Louis Walsh has urged his girlfriend Karen Byrne to join a girl band despite not having a “note in her head”.
The Liverpool-born, Dublin-based singer said Louis was impressed by Karen’s striking looks.
Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, Jake, 25, said: “Louis came out to us when we were on Dancing With The Stars, we have a few mutual friends.
“He did tell Karen she’d be a great singer and she doesn’t have a note in her head, we had a good laugh about that.
“He commented to her about being great in a girl band.
“He told her it didn’t matter if she couldn’t sing but she looked great.”
Jake and Karen, 31, fell for each other on DWTS in 2018, taking home the Glitterball trophy.
The pair have become accustomed to the public asking when he’ll pop the question, adding: “We’ve got used to it because we’re together a few years, it will happen whenever we’re ready.
“We get asked about getting married everywhere we go, on the street and even in coffee shops.
“We’re not always on the same page, we both have fiery personalities.
“If Karen doesn’t agree with something she’ll tell you, I think that’s what I love about her.”
Fresh from their TV appearance on RTE’S Zoo Live, he admitted
zookeeping is a dirty business. We got to feed the giraffes and go into the lion enclosures.
“We had to pick up loads of poo and clean the animal enclosures. Karen is not afraid to get her hands dirty, she’s not afraid of the graft.”
Heaping praise on Ireland’s Eurovision entry, he said: “Bambie [Thug] did so well in fairness to them.
“There’s such space for Bambie in the music business, they have their own niche.
“That stood to them in the Eurovision and was one of the reasons why they did so well.”
Jake released new single What Is Love this week from his EP Point Of You.
With more than 500,000 views on his Youtube channel, he said social media is good for business but full of haters.
He added: “Social media is great to get my music out there, but it has a lot of downsides too, you can get a lot of hate online.
“At first it was tough because you’re not used to receiving any hate or negative comments.”
Destined to be a singer, he said working on a building site was a rude awakening.
He said: “My dad’s a builder. When you get to act or perform, you have to appreciate it. I only lasted two weeks working on the site.
“I started gigging and realised how hard the site was, mydad gave me a P45, so I was off to the pub to start singing.”
