Coun­cil­lor urges peo­ple to clean up af­ter their dog fol­low­ing com­plaints

LO­CAL coun­cil­lor Dolores Minogue is urg­ing dog walk­ers in the district to clean up af­ter their pets af­ter re­ceiv­ing a num­ber of com­plaints.

‘Peo­ple have been in con­tact with me from Col­lon and Ardee, par­tic­u­larly around the Ed­u­cate To­gether school, to say that the level of dog soil­ing is ter­ri­ble at the mo­ment.

‘I would urge peo­ple to carry a bag and clean up af­ter their dog.’

It is il­le­gal not to clean up af­ter your pet with hefty fines im­posed.

Rathnestin Point to Point event

THE Rathnestin Point to Point at Tal­lanstown takes place on Satur­day, May 5 th, in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Oriel Har­ri­ers. They have added a coun­try fair com­plete with kids en­ter­tain­ment, lo­cal food and trade ven­dors and the much an­tic­i­pated sheep rac­ing! It runs from noon to 7pm.

Beauty night

St. Finian’s N.S. Dil­lon­stown, Dun­leer par­ents as­so­ci­a­tion are host­ing a Beauty Night on Fri­day 20th April at 7.30pm in Slans Pub, An­na­gas­san, new back room. Hosted by pro­fes­sional Makeup artist Noelle Kir­wan and Skin­care Spe­cial­ist Christina Han­ratty. The night will con­sist of 2 makeovers (1 teenager and 1 ma­ture lady) and skin­care talk and demo. Raf­fle on the night will in­clude 2 makeup vouch­ers, hair and beauty ham­per and much more. Ad­mis­sion €10. Fin­ger food pro­vided. Why not come along for a great night. All wel­come.

Fence around Ir­ish Wa­ter site at Green­mount

Ir­ish Wa­ter is seek­ing per­mis­sion for de­vel­op­ment that will con­sist of the con­struc­tion of 297m of 2.4m high Pal­isade Fenc­ing around the perime­ter of the Green­mount Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant at Green­mount, Ardee and the in­stal­la­tion of one man­u­ally op­er­ated lock­able gate suited to match perime­ter fenc­ing.

They are also look­ing for the same de­vel­op­ment at the Castle­belling­ham Waste­water Treat­ment Plant in Kil­saran.

Castle­guard homes

NINE houses have been al­lo­cated at the Castle­guard es­tate in Ardee. They are all four bed­room homes. 20 more are to be al­lo­cated shortly.
