MOD­ERN LOVE IN FESTIVAL FI­NAL GIG

AN on­line pub­lic vote has cho­sen five acts to com­pete in the live fi­nal of the Fire­stone Bat­tle of the Bands com­pe­ti­tion, part of Fire­stone Live’s as­so­ci­a­tion with this year’s Van­tas­ti­val.

Modernlove., Ex­iles, Son­nets & Sis­ters, Oski Bravo, and JaX­son have come out on top in the pub­lic vote and will pro­ceed to the live fi­nal on Thurs­day 26th April.

The fi­nal will take place in Odd Mol­lies, Drogheda, where the bands will per­form for a judg­ing panel com­pris­ing To­day FM pro­ducer and DJ Ed Smith, To­day FM Head of Sound Gavin Blake, Lec­turer in Dun Laoghaire eFur­ther Ed­u­ca­tion In­sti­tute John McFad­den, and Van­tas­ti­val Di­rec­tor Benny Taaffe.

The over­all win­ner will re­ceive a prize pack­age in­clud­ing a two track record­ing ses­sion at Her­bert Place Stu­dios and €1,800 worth of equip­ment from the Mu­sic­maker store in Dublin, and will head­line the Fire­stone Mu­sic Sta­tion stage at this year’s Van­tas­ti­val.

Van­tas­ti­val is de­lighted to be in­volved with Fire­stone Live 2018, which will give up-and-com­ing artists the op­por­tu­nity to per­form at ma­jor fes­ti­vals across Eu­rope this sum­mer.

The Fire­stone Mu­sic Sta­tion is an in­ti­mate ex­pe­ri­ence that brings to­gether fans and pas­sion­ate mu­si­cians. Fire­stone aims to en­cour­age and sup­port emerg­ing mu­sic tal­ent in Ire­land with the Bat­tle of the Bands com­pe­ti­tion, which is now in its sec­ond year. 12 acts short­listed by Fire­stone took part in the on­line phase of the com­pe­ti­tion and all 12 will fea­ture on the Fire­stone Stage at this year’s Van­tas­ti­val. The stage will fea­ture 25 acts in to­tal over the festival week­end.
