Over €8,000 se­cured for works at St Columba’s church at Colpe

A to­tal of €133,342 in fund­ing has been al­lo­cated lo­cally to sup­port lo­cal her­itage pro­jects, Cllr Fer­gus O’Dowd has said.

The fund­ing was an­nounced by Min­is­ter for Cul­ture, Her­itage, and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madi­gan, un­der the 2018 Struc­tures at Risk Fund and the Built Her­itage In­vest­ment Scheme 2018.

Deputy O’Dowd said: “New fund­ing to­talling €125k has been granted to County Louth and also €8,342 for the St Columba’s former Church of Ire­land build­ing in Colpe.

Rathescar House, Rathescar, Dun­leer, is to get €20,000 for roof re­pairs. Carston House will get €5,000 to safe­guard Ar­mo­rial Plaques.

Roof re­pairs to the tune of €20,000 will also be given to 74-76 West Street.

Separately, lo­cal her­itage pro­jects will re­ceive €58,342 through the Built Her­itage In­vest­ment Scheme. The lo­cal pro­jects to ben­e­fit from this Scheme in­clude The Thatch (€10,000), Beaulieu House (€10k), High­lanes gallery (€10k).
