Two accused of possessing steel bat and pickaxe handles
TWO men have appeared in court accused of possessing offensive weapons in Drogheda.
Brendan Maguire (39), St. Anthony’s Park, Cement Road, Drogheda and Mark Kavanagh (30), Avenue One, Yellowbatter, Drogheda are charged with having in a public place, without lawful or reasonable excuse a steel baseball bat and two large plastic pickaxe handles, made for causing injury to a person, at St. Anthony’s Park on 31 October last.
Criminal damage charge
A third man, Luke Maguire (38), St. Anthony’s Park, also appeared before last Wednesday’s sitting of Dundalk court.
He is charged with causing criminal damage to the windows of a Volkswagen Polo at St. Anthony’s Park, on 9 November last.
Judge Coughlan was told the three defendants were arrested earlier on the morning of Wednesday, 28 November.
All three were remanded on conditional bail to Drogheda Court on 18 January next.
