FOLLOWING ON from a successful talk on making a will in 2011, further practical advice on planning for end-of-life matters was given by speakers from Cooney’s Funeral Directors, New Ross Town Council and New Ross Credit Union in New Ross Library last Tuesday evening.

Ger Mackey, New Ross Town Clerk, talked about regulation­s and costs involved in burials in St Stephen’s cemetery in New Ross, Brendan O Beirne from New Ross Credit Union talked about provisions for funeral expenses for Credit Union savers referring to savings and insurance policies, and Joanne Cooney from Cooney’s Funeral Directors talked about the profession­al services available to care for your loved ones with the dignity and respect they deserve referring to many of the practicali­ties involved.
