The festive season is almost upon us once again and Rathnure Pantomime Society are on full steam ahead for their 23rd Christmas show ‘A Fairytale Wedding - And You’re Invited!’

Featuring a cast of over 70 people, from 5 year olds up to...well, we won’t reveal what age...the Rathnure Christmas Panto has become part of the Wexford Christmas tradition for many.

All the usual madness and mayhem ensues, as we arrive at Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty’s wedding, where she about to be married to none other than the King himself, Elvis! However, the evil Maleficent, of whom everyone thought was dead, reappears to destroy Aurora’s big day, placing a spell on her, that if one ray of sunshine hits her skin, she will die.

So in true Rathnure fairytale tradition, she must hide in the local blood bank, which is run by Dracula, his countess and a host of weird characters, where there is sure to be no sunlight.

So where do the three little pigs, Tarzan and Jane and a Jamaican DJ come into all of this?

The show runs from December 10th at 6.30 p.m.; December 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th at 7.45pm; December 17th at 6 p.m.; 18th at 7.45 p.m., December 27th and 28th at 6 p.m., December 29th at 7.45 p.m.
