Transfer of licence for Strand Tavern is granted Dance licence for St Mogue’s

-

TRANSFER of the licence for the Strand Tavern in Duncannon was granted to Hal Reburn of Duncannon at the District Court sitting in Wexford.

The application had been delayed as there were several objections lodged – by Alan Geraghty with an address in Dublin at Grand Canal Dock; by Country Style Foods Limited, Carrigeen, Waterford; and by the Duncannon Fish Company Limited, Wexford Street, New Ross.

However, none of the objectors was represented on this occasion before Judge Bernadette Owens who heard instead from the applicant’s solicitor, Eric Furlong.

He stated that the objections were based on matters to do with corporate enforcement but they had not been pursued with any action in the High Court.

The judge noted that the objectors were not represented and that they had never given evidence in support of their objections.

With this in mind she was prepared to grant the transfer. ST MOGUE’S GAA club was granted a dance licence for a barn dance function in Fethard-on-Sea on application to the District Court.

The application was moved before Judge Bernadette Owens by solicitor Eric Furlong.

He explained that the barn in question is a permanent structure on the property of Thomas Noonan and he produced a map to the court to show the precise location.

Mr Furlong also assured the judge that the club had insurance in place.

The application was granted after Garda Sergeant Gary Rayner offered no objection.
