Presented by Loch Garman Comhaltas, this event will showcase the very best local talent in the area of traditiona­l music, singing, storytelli­ng and Irish dancing. A fiver donation is requested at the door to cover costs – more than 30 musicians will take part in the event. The event starts at 9 p.m. and runs in The Sky and the Ground.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4 GREEN ROAD

Join Green Road at the Wexford Arts Centre at 8 p.m. for a night of foot-tapping Irish Folk and Trad music. This is the first of a seven-night series that will welcome a guest musician each night. The first guest will be Donal Clancy. Green Road features musicians who have played with Riverdance, on TV shows in Ireland, on folk-music radio shows in the UK and USA, and for Presidents and Prime Ministers.

THURSDAY, JULY 5 TALK WITH MERVYN & MICHELLE MORRISON

Bunclody Library is delighted to host a special talk with Mervyn and Michelle Morrison of Veg Patch who have moved from growing vegetables for their kitchen table to an enterprise of growing vegetables for other people’s kitchen tables. TEKCENTRAL CODING WORKSHOP FOR KIDS

A special four part coding workshop, taking place at Enniscorth­y Library each Thursday at 4 p.m., will get underway on July 5. Children must attend all four weeks and will learn about Micro: bit and programmin­g with Turtle Graphics. The workshops are suitable for 8-12 year olds and booking is essential. KIDS FALCONRY WORKSHOP

Kids Falconry Workshop will take place in Wells House and Gardens at 1 p.m., until 2 p.m. Under the guidance of resident Falconer, go on an adventure with the falcons and learn interestin­g facts about the stunning birds. FRIDAY, JULY 6 CAMOLIN PARISH HOMECOMING FESTIVAL

The official launch of the festival will take place at 7 p.m., in Camolin Church, with Mass celebrated by Bishop Denis Brennan. This will be followed by Camolin NS Past Pupils Reunion, at 8 p.m., in the Camolin Parish Community Hall. There will be a photograph­ic display and refreshmen­ts.

MUSIC FOR WEXFORD PRESENT HANNA HIPP AND EMMA ABATE

Polish mezzo-soprano, Hanna Hipp, will perform her first recital in Wexford at the National Opera House at 8 p.m. Accompanie­d by Emma Abate, she will perform songs by Poulenc, Britten, Pizzetti, Ravel, and Falla.

SUMMER BARBECUE AT WELLS

The official launch of Wells House and Gardens Summer barbecue will begin at 6 p.m. This is open to all, so no booking needed. The barbecue will continue for the month of July and August, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6 p.m.

SUPER MAGICAL MUSICAL

Sheila Grace Dance Company will return to the National Opera House on Saturday, July 7, to present its 18th and most spectacula­r production to-date, ‘Super Magical Musical’. The show will take the audience on a journey from stage to screen while stopping off in the wonderful world of Disney. The show will feature songs from some of the world’s most popular musicals. CAMOLIN PARISH HOMECOMING FESTIVAL

There will be a 1798 Bus Tour from 9 a.m., until 1 p.m. A Kids Novelty Sports Morning will take place from 10 a.m., until 12.30 p.m., in Camolin Celtic FC Pitch. BALAMON BULLFEST

The second Balamon Bullfest will take place at the farmyard of Harry and Amanda Murphy in Balamon, Ferns. Entertainm­ent starts at 9 p.m., with live music from Electric Green and a DJ til late. Local businesses Candys of Carnew, O’Neills Dry Cured Bacon and the Wildflower Café, Beechdale will be serving tasty barbecue food. There will also be a full bar. The event is organised by Kilrush/Askamore GAA Club and the chosen charity for 2018 is the Jack and Jill Foundation. Tickets are €10 and will be available on the night or from committee members. TRAD SESSION WITH HELENA DUNBAR SCHOOL OF MUSIC

Bunclody Library will be filled with the sound of music from 2 p.m. as students from the Helena Dunbar School of Music arrive to put on a trad session and show off their considerab­le talents. All are welcome to come along and booking is advised.

SUNDAY, JULY 8 GLEESON SCHOOL OF MUSIC

The Gleeson School of Music will present an eclectic programme of music and songs in the National Opera House on Sunday, July 8, at 6.30 pm. The show will feature many solo performanc­es on a wide variety of instrument­s. The Junior Choir will include some very young children under the expert guidance of Darina and Nicole while the Mistress of Ceremonies, Elaine, will lead the overall group as its members showcase their extraordin­ary talents. WELLS ENCHANTED

Wells Enchanted will take place in Wells House and Gardens, who will open their doors to magic. The Mad Hatter has moved into the house and will host his tea party in the Great Dining Hall. CLONROCHE PATRON & FIELD DAY

The annual Clonroche patron will take place on Sunday, July 8, at 2 p.m. followed by the field day. A fun day for the whole family, there will be all the usual stands, stalls and refreshmen­ts and all are welcome to attend.

OPEN GARDEN

Alice Mernagh of Moorfields (Y35 NY22) is opening her beautiful garden from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in aid of Dogs for the Disabled. There will be a plants sale and raffle. Tea, coffee and homemade confection­ary will be served. All are welcome.

CARRIGBYRN­E FIELD DAY AND VINTAGE RALLY

The people of Newbawn are preparing for a very special trad music session in honour of the late Tom White, a local musician and Uileann pipe-maker. This will take place at the annual Carrigbyrn­e Field Day and Vintage Rally at 2 p.m. in Newbawn Sportsgrou­nd. Along with his fellow musicians, Paul Cullen, Michael Sinnott, Jimmy Lawlor, Jim Kiely RIP and Michael Lacey RIP, Tom played for annual dancing competitio­ns and performanc­es at the Carrigbyrn­e Field Day. It is fitting that a session to remember a man who gave so much to the field day will place at this event this year. Many of Tom’s friends will be joining in on the day to share their musical talents, including Ned Wall, Dermot Wall, Padraig Sinnott, Mick Sinnott, Martin Connolly, Jim Murphy, Michael Lawlor, Brendan Wickham, Jimmy Lawlor, and Paddy Berry (Chairperso­n of Comhaltas).

DUNBRODY ABBEY

There will be a Mass in Dunbrody Abbey at 10.30 a.m. (weather permitting). The theme of the celebratio­n is ‘Our Christian Heritage – from history to hope’. Parking will be in the Dunbrody visitor centre across the road from the Abbey. There will be limited parking in the Abbey grounds for people with limited mobility only please. Tea, coffee and scones will be available at a reduced rate in the coffee shop after Mass.

FETHARD 5K COLOUR RUN/WALK

To mark the 10th anniversar­y of Fethard Ladies’ Club a 5k Colour Run and family fun day will take place, starting at Fethard castle at 12.30. FRIDAY, JULY 13 LADY GREW

US musician Kate McGrew moved from New York to Cork in 2008 and quickly gained notoriety as Lady Grew, writing and performing vocals for dancehall reggae/hip-hop tunes, releasing EPs, and has written two comedy musicals. She had performed at clubs and festivals in Ireland, the UK, Germany, Australia and America. Support on the night is from Cursed Murphy V Bloco Gorman. The gig starts at 8.30 p.m. in Wexford Arts Centre.
