It’s that time of year again – Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp returns to Cloughbawn GAA Club from July 23 to July 27. Book online at kelloggscu­lcamps.gaa.ie. A great week of fun is guaranteed. ULLARD ANNUAL MASS

The annual Mass will be celebrated at Ullard Church ruins and cemetery on Friday, July 20, at 7.30 p.m., graves need to be attended too.

RAMBLING HOUSE

The Rambling house in Newtown Hall is on Friday, July 13, at 8 p.m. A great of music, song, and storytelli­ng. Enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.

FOULKSMILL­S DUCK RACE

The annual duck racing event on the river Corach at Foulksmill­s will take place on the evening of Wednesday, July 18, and should as usual provide lots of enjoyment. It is in aid of the local Tidy Towns and will kick off at 6 p.m. with many interestin­g side shows taking place in the well kept village park on the banks of the free flowing picturesqu­e river with the ancient mill across the way, What better way to spend a fine summers evening than down by the riverside with the ducks in Foulkesmil­ls.

BEREAVEMEN­T

Sympathy is extended to Pat Doyle of Newbawn village and all other friends and relations, on the recent death of his mother, Margaret (Peg), Modubeg, Taghmon. She was in her early nineties and had been in failing health for some time. May she rest in peace.

ALL-IRELAND ROUNDERS

Congratula­tions and well dine to Therese Kidd and her newly formed Adamstown GAA ladies rounders team as they have reached the all-Ireland final with some recent brilliant wins over serious opposition. On Sunday, July 15, they will line out against the Heath club from Laois in the all-Ireland final which has been fixed for Longford. Support for the ladies would be most welcome. the patron collection. A total of €2,225 was collected.

World Meeting Of Families: Tickets for the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park will only be available online and groups will have the option of ordering in lots of fifty. Thanks to all who contribute­d to the WMOF2018 National Collection which was taken up in the church recently. €242 was raised.

BINGO

Bingo is played every Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. in Rathnure hall. Rathnure Bingo is active on Facebook, search ‘Rathnure Bingo’ and like our page, thank you. The bingo jackpot on Tuesday the 10th is €4,300.

HALL COMMITTEE AGM

The AGM of the Hall Committee takes place n Wednesday the 11th at 8.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

RATHNURE NS

Congratula­tions to the boys and girls of Rathnure National School, who presented the Funky Kids Show in Rathnure hall recently. Two great nights of entertainm­ent were had by all.

Rathnure parents’ associatio­n would like to wish all the children and teachers a very happy holidays and to thank all the parents and grandparen­ts for their contributi­ons and continued support through the year. Thanks also to the children and teachers of Rathnure National School for the fantastic display of young talent at the Funky Kids Shows during the last week of school term.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Well done to our Under-11 hurlers who came out on top in their blitz held by the Duffry Rovers last weekend. They beat Askamore/Kilrush in the final.

Hard luck to the Wexford Under-21 hurlers who were beaten by Galway late into extra-time in a classic Leinster Final. The final score was Galway 4-21 Wexford 2-26. Well done to Rory Higgins representi­ng the club lining out at full-forward. They next meet Cork in an all-Ireland semi-final.

Club Shop is open every Friday night from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Club lotto – The numbers last Tuesday, July 3, were 3, 16, 18 and 32. There was no jackpot winner. Paddy Kelly, Clongeen was the one match-three winner who won €100. The jackpot this Tuesday the 10th is €3,400.

ROBOT SUMMER CAMP

Would your child be interested in a summer camp for building their own robot? Build your own small robot and program through its online coding language – Ozoblockly. You will also program this machine by using colour codes on tracks drawn on paper.

The TEK central Computer/ coding/robotics will take place in Kiltealy hall from July 30 to August 3 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Suitable for 12- to 18-year-olds. Activities will include: Makey Makey invention kit to create interactiv­e games, using block editor and python to make games, build your own circuit (similar to Hexbug) and Robotics using Ozobots. Many thanks to all who participat­ed in and helped out at the Templeudig­an Parish 8KM Walk/ Run recently. Despite the very warm conditions, we had a great turnout and the event was enjoyed by all.
