‘Ed­u­cateTo­gether’ schoolispro­posed

A multi-de­nom­i­na­tional ed­u­ca­tional group is con­sid­er­ing the pos­si­bil­ity of open­ing a new pri­mary school in Wex­ford.

Ed­u­cate To­gether, a na­tional body which fa­cil­i­tates groups of par­ents to open multi-de­nom­i­na­tional schools, named Wex­ford and Gorey as two towns in which they hope to open new schools.

‘Over the past num­ber of years, we have been con­tacted by a num­ber of peo­ple in all de­vel­op­ing towns on the east coast,’ said the body’s chief ex­ec­u­tive, Paul Rowe.

‘We have opened a school in Wick­low town this year, and one in Water­ford the year be­fore last. We are aware of con­sid­er­able in­ter­est in Wex­ford and down the coast.’
