The lat­est draw in the New­bawn parish fundraiser took place af­ter 11 a.m. Mass on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 28, and the fol­low­ing were the lucky win­ners. First prize €300 – Corey French Car­rignee Ra­heen­var­ren, sec­ond prize €200 – Matthew Dun­leavy Scul­labogue. Third prize €100 – PJ Nu­gent ‘Hill of the bar­racks’ New­bawn.

A new se­ries of monthly draws will com­mence on Sun­day, Novem­ber 25. Pro­mot­ers will be on their usual rounds from next week, or you may join the con­fined draw by con­tact­ing any of the New­bawn parish coun­cil mem­bers. Its just €5 per month or €30 to cover the en­tire six month pe­riod of the draw.

Prizes in­clude €300. €200 and €100 each month and there will be five ex­tra prizes of €100 each for the Christ­mas draw that will take place at end of De­cem­ber. All pro­ceeds will go to­wards parochial fund­ing.


The lat­est ‘split-the-pot ‘ draw took place in Fo­leys pub on Thurs­day night with a big crowd in at­ten­dance. The lucky win­ner of al­most €300 was Cross Philip na­tive Garry Bradley. En­velopes to en­ter the next draw on Thurs­day week may be pur­chased in any of the lo­cal busi­ness premises or at the back of the church.
