The latest draw in the Newbawn parish fundraiser took place after 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 28, and the following were the lucky winners. First prize €300 – Corey French Carrignee Raheenvarren, second prize €200 – Matthew Dunleavy Scullabogue. Third prize €100 – PJ Nugent ‘Hill of the barracks’ Newbawn.
A new series of monthly draws will commence on Sunday, November 25. Promoters will be on their usual rounds from next week, or you may join the confined draw by contacting any of the Newbawn parish council members. Its just €5 per month or €30 to cover the entire six month period of the draw.
Prizes include €300. €200 and €100 each month and there will be five extra prizes of €100 each for the Christmas draw that will take place at end of December. All proceeds will go towards parochial funding.
The latest ‘split-the-pot ‘ draw took place in Foleys pub on Thursday night with a big crowd in attendance. The lucky winner of almost €300 was Cross Philip native Garry Bradley. Envelopes to enter the next draw on Thursday week may be purchased in any of the local business premises or at the back of the church.
