Upgrade planned for bank branch

-

THE Bank of Ireland building on New Ross quay is in line for a major upgrade to meet customer demands, with the counter service set to be extended in New Ross and also in Bunclody.

The bank announced recently that from September its branches in New Ross and Bunclody will have a counter service available to personal customers both in the morning and the afternoon.

Up to now, the counter service was just available during morning hours. The bank has also announced it will be investing in a significant refurbishment of its branch in New Ross to upgrade the premises for customers, following the decision to close its support office with the loss of 20 jobs earlier this year.

JJ Keyes, Head of Bank of Ireland Wexford said: ‘ Serving customers brilliantly is a key priority for Bank of Ireland. We want to offer services and products in line with how consumers want to bank – both now and into the future. With more than 250 branches nationwide, we are proud to have the largest branch network of any bank in Ireland.

‘We have been listening carefully to our customers and it’s clear that we need to improve the service we provide. Customers want to see tellers behind the counter and not just in the morning. In response to that feedback, we have extended our counter service to operate in the afternoon, as well as the morning, at our branches in Bunclody and New Ross.’
