The weekly ‘30’ card game continues in the community centre this Friday, November 23, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on Friday the 23rd will be: Ellie Walsh and Stella Delaney. Catering on Friday, November 30, will be Cait Bradley, Josephine Hendrick and Betty O’Shea. Catering on Friday, December 7, will be Mary Kirwan, Lorna Komsa and Betty Cullen. Proceeds going to parish funds.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The lucky winner in Adamstown National School split-thepot draw on Wednesday the 14th was Breege Cosgrave, who got €94. The winning school seller was Liam Duffy. The next draw is on Wednesday, November 28. Envelopes costing €2 are available in Cullen’s Gala, Adamstown Pharmacy, Brad Óg’s Pub and Chipper and in the school. Thanks for your support.

RECYCLING COLLECTION

The parents’ associatio­n in Adamstown NS will hold a Clothes Recycling Collection outside the school on Wednesday, November 28, from 9.30 a.m. Your support is much appreciate­d.

SYMPATHY

Our condolence­s to Maisie Colfer, The Leap, Adamstown on the death of her husband Jimmy in his 92-year on Saturday, November 10, much loved father of Seán, Séamus, Ann, Joan and MJ Sadly missed by his sons-inlaw, daughter-in-law, brother-inlaw, sister-in-law, grandchild­ren, extended family relations and friends and neighbours. Jimmy’s funeral Mass took place on Monday, November 12, in St Abban’s Church with burial afterwards in Adamstown Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Adamstown Community Centre Cabaret held in Foley’s Newbawn on Saturday, November 10. We would like to take this opportunit­y to thank all who sold tickets, all who supported and all who donated door prizes and raffle prizes, and all who won the prizes. The money made at the cabaret goes to much needed funds for the community centre. And also Dermot Hynes, who supplied the music. A great night was enjoyed by all.

SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY

The senior citizens Christmas party will take place in the Horse and Hound on Sunday, December 2, at 6 p.m.

PTAA REUNION

Many people from the Newbawn, Raheen and surroundin­g areas will attend the annual Ferns Diocesan PTAA reunion Mass and dinner in the Riverside Park Hotel Enniscorth­y on Friday, November 23, Mass will commence in the hotel at 7 p.m. and will be followed by the meal.

FOOD/TOY COLLECTION

Raheen Family Resource Centre is organising a collection of non-perishable food items and new toys to be distribute­d to families in need on our area this Christmas. If you would like to make a donation you can leave items in to Raheen Childcare Centre or to Raheen FRC in the Parish House before Friday, December 7.

DANCING AT CAMROSS

The December dance and last one for 2018 will be held on Friday, December 7, with music by the ever popular Liam Mannering. Dancing at the earlier time of 9.30 p.m. till midnight for the winter months. Admission €10 including the tea thanks to all who supported our Nov dance with music by T Bone Country.

Adamstown Tidy Towns will be selling traditiona­l handmade Christmas wreaths at the upcoming Coláiste Abbain Christmas Fair on Thursday, December 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Holly and dry cone wreaths all €10 each. Your support will be appreciate­d.

The annual collection in aid of St Vincent DePaul will take place on Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9. Please give generously.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Coláiste Abbáin are holding their Christmas Craft Fair on Thursday evening, December 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Free Entry to fair – Items on show will be wreaths, candles, fabric/knitted crafts, Christmas decoration­s/ table centrepiec­es, buns/cakes, gifts and many many more.

This year trading is open to outside traders along with our own student creations. Looking forward to seeing you all there to enjoy the enterprise and creativity that is vibrant in Adamstown.
