Trio of sporting stars to tog out for Wexford FC event

- By PÁDRAIG BYRNE

WEXFORD FC are to host a fascinating evening for sports fans as they present an evening with Kevin Doyle, Stephen Hunt and Billy Walsh at The Riverside Park Hotel on Wednesday, November 28 at 8 p.m.

While Kevin Doyle and Billy Walsh are Wexford men through and through, although he’s a Waterford native, Stephen Hunt has almost been adopted as a yellow-belly at this stage, calling Rosslare home for the past number of years.

Having played alongside each other for Reading, Wolves and Ireland, Doyle and Hunt are sure to have quite a few stories that will peak the interest of audience members, while Walsh is sure to have plenty of tales from the glory days of Irish boxing, his fallout with the IABA and his subsequent success at the far side of the Atlantic.

A legend in his own right, the conversation will be guided by the legendary Liam Spratt completing a stellar line-up to interest any sports fan. Wexford FC are hoping that it will prove a successful event and could provide the ideal pre- Christmas night out for people from all over the county.

Tickets for the evening are priced at €10 and are available on the door, from Hore’s Stores and Axa Insurance in Wexford and Breen’s Hardware in New Ross. All support is greatly appreciated.
