€500,000 for Min Ryan Park

HALF a mil­lion Euro in fund­ing has been se­cured for Min Ryan Park in Wex­ford.

The fund­ing of €500,000, al­lo­cated un­der the Gov­ern­ment’s Out­door Re­cre­ation Scheme, will be used to de­velop the 18 acre mu­nic­i­pal park at Killeens. One of 18 projects na­tion­wide ben­e­fit­ting from the scheme, Min Ryan Park in­cludes a one kilo­me­tre cir­cu­la­tion track for walk­ing and cy­cling.

Ap­prox­i­mately €30 mil­lion has now been al­lo­cated to over 500 projects un­der the na­tional scheme since 2016 to im­prove walk­ing trails, green­ways and other recre­ational ameni­ties.

Min­is­ter Paul Ke­hoe said the park de­vel­op­ment, in con­junc­tion with Wex­ford County Coun­cil, will pro­vide a ma­jor tourism boost.

‘It will help re­vi­talise Wex­ford and will pro­vide a ma­jor tourism boost.’
