THE ASK CHRISTMAS CONCERT

The first Ask Christmas Concert will be held this year in aid of Pieta House. The National Opera House will host an evening of collaborti­on from some of Wexford’s finest musicians including the Ocelots, Basciville and the Man Whom, all featuring orchestral arrangemen­ts written and directed by Liam Bates and performed by his orchestra. CHARITY GIG FOR HOMELESSNE­SS

The Crown Live will host a charity gig later this month to raise money for the Wexford branch of the society of St Vincent de Paul and the Simon Community. The gig will take place on Saturday, December 22, and will feature some of Wexford’s foremost music acts including Niall Cash; Tierney; Mark Walsh; Fin Winner and the Famous Séamus. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and tickets, priced €10, are now available at the Crown and also by email at: saculdypuf­finproduct­ions@gmail.com. The proceeds from the event will be split between the two aforementi­oned charities.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Gorey Choral Group and friends annual Christmas Concert will take place in Gorey Library, at 3 p.m. Take a break from the Christmas shopping and join in for a seasonal mix of music and readings, including a piano performanc­e by Darragh Gilleece, finishing off with a recital from the Gorey Choral group. There will be tea or coffee and mince pies.

DECLAN O’ROURKE IN ST IBERIUS CHURCH

To celebrate the re-release of his classic 2004 debut album Since Kyabram, O’Rourke will take members of the original band back to Wexford this December 22nd for a nostalgic and uplifting show. Tickets at €27 from lantern.ie

BREE CAROL SINGING

Bree Youth Club’s annual Carol Singing in aid of Hope will take place on after Mass. Hot chocolate and refreshmen­ts will be available afterwards.
