Two injured as car collides with horse

TWO people were injured when the car in which they were driving collided with a horse at Clonmines near Wellingtonbridge on Friday night.

The car, driven by a woman in her late forties, struck the horse which was on the road. The woman and man, who is in his late forties, were taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment to their injuries, which a garda spokesperson described as minor. The horse had to be put down, the spokesperson added.
