Letter from HSE leads to litter conviction
HSE correspondence found in rubbish abandoned in a farm gateway in Ballywilliam led to a double prosecution.
The District Court dealt litter fines and conviction to Kathleen Murphy and James Murphy, both of 15 Woodbine Close, New Ross.
The case was brought to court after the rubbish was examined by a representative of Wexford County Council in January.
The judge had the benefit of photographs taken at the scene.
Neither defendant was in court as fines of €500 each, along with orders to pay €200 costs were imposed.
