Let­ter from HSE leads to lit­ter con­vic­tion

HSE cor­re­spon­dence found in rub­bish aban­doned in a farm gate­way in Bal­ly­william led to a dou­ble pros­e­cu­tion.

The Dis­trict Court dealt lit­ter fines and con­vic­tion to Kath­leen Mur­phy and James Mur­phy, both of 15 Wood­bine Close, New Ross.

The case was brought to court af­ter the rub­bish was ex­am­ined by a rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Wex­ford County Coun­cil in Jan­uary.

The judge had the ben­e­fit of pho­to­graphs taken at the scene.

Nei­ther de­fen­dant was in court as fines of €500 each, along with or­ders to pay €200 costs were im­posed.
