Woman guilty of driving without tax and insurance

A MOTOR insurance conviction was marked against absent defendant Elizabeth Banville (35), from 71 Woodbine Close, New Ross at the District Court in Wexford.

The matter was prosecuted after she was stopped at a checkpoint on the morning of March 31 in Robert Street.

The officer on duty noted that the tax on the vehicle ran out in October last year.

The lack of insurance cost the defendant a fine of €2,000 with a two year driving ban.
