Work to be­gin on lo­cal ac­tiv­ity cen­tre

WORK on a pro­posed ac­tiv­ity cen­tre at Car­rig­foyle quarry on the out­skirts of Wex­ford town is ex­pected to be­gin by the mid­dle of this year.

In a re­port to mem­bers of the lo­cal au­thor­ity the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of Wex­ford County Coun­cil, Tom En­right, said it’s planned that work on the project will be­gin by the sec­ond quar­ter of the year.

In­fras­truc­tural work will form the ini­tial phase of the de­vel­op­ment and ac­cord­ing to Mr En­right it’s ‘en­vis­aged’ that works will be com­pleted by the first quar­ter of 2020.

In Septem­ber an ap­pli­ca­tion for fund­ing re­lat­ing to the pro­posal was sub­mit­ted by the lo­cal au­thor­ity un­der the RRDF (Ru­ral Re­gen­er­a­tion and De­vel­op­ment Fund) scheme.
