Work to begin on local activity centre
WORK on a proposed activity centre at Carrigfoyle quarry on the outskirts of Wexford town is expected to begin by the middle of this year.
In a report to members of the local authority the Chief Executive Officer of Wexford County Council, Tom Enright, said it’s planned that work on the project will begin by the second quarter of the year.
Infrastructural work will form the initial phase of the development and according to Mr Enright it’s ‘envisaged’ that works will be completed by the first quarter of 2020.
In September an application for funding relating to the proposal was submitted by the local authority under the RRDF (Rural Regeneration and Development Fund) scheme.
