Good luck to our per­form­ers at the Leinster fi­nal of Scor na nÓg which will take place on Sun­day, Jan­uary 13, at 2 p.m. at the Na­tional Opera House in Wex­ford.

We will be rep­re­sented by the dancers in Rince Foirne: Our dancers are Lisa Mur­phy, Caoimhe Quigley, Nathan McDon­ald, Cor­mac Cooper, Aoib­hinn Cooper, Bridin Quigley and Phena Quigley and Aoib­hinn Cooper will also per­form in the Aithriseoireacht:

VIN­TAGE SO­CI­ETY

The Clon­roche-Poul­peasty Vin­tage So­ci­ety held their an­nual St Stephen’s Trac­tor run and funds were handed over to Meals on Wheels in Aughyvoir on Fri­day night last, Meals on Wheels would like to ac­knowl­edge the con­tri­bu­tions made and thank the mem­bers for all their sup­port.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The lo­cal mem­bers of St Vincent de Paul would like to thank most sin­cerely the chil­dren and teach­ers of Donard NS who col­lected a large quan­tity of food prior to Christ­mas. This was an enor­mous help and was dis­trib­uted to the lo­cal ar­eas of Clon­roche, Adamstown, New­bawn and Ra­heen.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The lat­est win­ner from split­the-pot was Kath­leen Doyle Castle­boro, the pot was €206, re­mem­ber all funds are used lo­cally and en­velopes can be bought in any of the lo­cal shops and busi­nesses.

CLOUGH­BAWN PARISH PARTY

Sun­day, Jan­uary 20, at 1 p.m. is des­ig­nated for one of the high­lights of the so­cial calendar – The Parish Party. With over 100 guests at last year’s’ event this year prom­ises to sur­pass even that. An op­por­tu­nity for so­cial in­ter­ac­tion amounts old friends and ac­quain­tances with good food and an evening’s en­ter­tain­ment is some­thing to look for­ward too and not to be missed.

PADDY MUR­PHY RIP

The death has oc­curred of Pa­trick (Paddy) Mur­phy, Donard. For­merly of Inch, Bal­ly­mur­phy, Co. Car­low, in his 87th year. Pre­de­ceased by his lov­ing wife Kath­leen, grand­son Cian and brother Pierce. Sadly missed by his lov­ing fam­ily, daugh­ters Mary, Brigid, Bernie, An­gela, sons Michael, Leo, Francis and PJ, sons-in-law, daugh­ters-in-law, grand­chil­dren, broth­ers, sis­ters, neph­ews, nieces, rel­a­tives, neigh­bours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Tak­ing part in the Campile United FC 5km fun run over the Christ­mas pe­riod were John McGrath, Campile; Edel and Jamie Power, Mul­li­na­vat; Wayne, Char­lie, Catherine, Conor, Jack, Harry Power, Campile.
