BALLYOUGHT­ON CHRISTMAS SALE

The annual Christmas sale which was held on Saturday, December 1, in aid of the Ballyought­on Church Funds was very well supported as in previous years making it very successful and huge thanks is given to all who came, bought goods, donated money and helped in many ways to make this sale such a success.

DANCING IN TÍR NA NÓG

There is no dance on Thursday, January 10. Dancing starts back on Thursday night, January 17, with music by Mary Prendergas­t; we also will have €100 spin the wheel.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The Mobile Library will be in Grantstown Daycare Centre on Wednesday, January 9, from 3.10 p.m. to 3.40 p.m. If you would like to join, membership is free. You can pick up an applicatio­n form here in Grantstown Daycare Centre. It’s not just books you can borrow from Wexford Library, there are also e-Books and e-Audio books. If you’re already a library member, you can collect a reserved book from the Mobile Library. Community group to bring people together who enjoy all aspects of art and Craft. Bring your own work or take part in group projects.

We have received Community Enhancemen­t funding to work with Ceramic Artist Mairead Stafford on a project. She will be with us on January 18. Also on that morning Barbara Kelly will give a session of local historical interests. Starting from 10 thirty.

LAST MAN STANDING

Huge congratula­tions to Gavin Waters on winning Fethard Rangers last man standing competitio­n. The club would like to thank everyone who supported the competitio­n and Cathal Walsh for running it for us. We will be starting a new LMS competitio­n early in the new year and would appreciate everyone’s support once again. It will be the usual €10 per entry with the prize money again being €500.

FETHARD SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Milly O’Grady, who won €86 in this week’s split-the-pot ( December 20, 2018). Envelopes for splitthe-pot are available in the post office, Dillon’s, The Wheelhouse, Droopy’s, Molloy’s, Neville’s and the Tourist Office. Draw takes place every Thursday.

WEEKLY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s Club lotto jackpot of €2,200. Next week’s jackpot stands at €2,300. The numbers drawn were 3, 20, 21 and 26. The club had one lucky-dip winner Jimmy Miskella, who won €30.

BLOKES WITH CAMERAS

Blokes with Cameras are back meeting in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre in Ramsgrange on Wednesday. Beginners and advanced photograph­ers welcome, and you don’t need a fancy camera to enjoy photograph­y. We will be running a basic photo shop course so you can have more fun with your photos. VARIETY CONCERT

Ramsgrange Community School is having a Variety Concert on Thursday, January 24. The concert will comprise a range of acts to include; singers, comedians, trad. players and much, much more. Tickets are €8 each or a ticket for a family of three for €20 – an ideal Christmas present. Tickets can be purchased in the school.

Ramsgrange Community Market is on every Friday morning from 9.30 a.m. in Ramsgrange Community Hall (opposite Centra). Pop in and have a cuppa and a chat and take the opportunit­y to meet and buy from local food producers and crafters. A New Enterprise Stall is being set up to support local crafters establish and promote their product and/ or new craft/food business. There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing developmen­t of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximat­ely being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.
