AWARDS FOR ADAMSTOWN GAA GIRLS

THE talented young footballin­g women of Adamstown have been honoured at an awards night in Raheen Hall.

Medals for the underage and adult teams were presented at the well attended event.

Fielding under-10, under-12, under-14, under-16, minor and senior teams, it was an action-packed 2018 for Adamstown Ladies GAA Club as they displayed competitiv­e football and outstandin­g performanc­es on pitches across the county and further afield.

Captain of the Wexford Intermedia­te Hurling team Michael Furlong presented medals to the underage squads. The under-12, under-14, under-16 teams were presented with their Division 2 county medals and team pictures. During the summer of 2018 the girls did the Adamstown area proud when they won the County Féile Cup final and went on to represent Wexford in the John West National Feile competitio­n. The Adamstown girls stayed with St Kevin’s in County Louth and reached the quarter final stage of the fiercely fought competitio­n.

Certificat­es were presented to the under-10 team by Ellen O’Brien of the club’s senior football team and a player on the senior Wexford ladies football team.

The minors were presented with their runner-up county medals and the senior adult players were presented with their runner-up Division 1 league medals. Afterwards everyone enjoyed a catch-up and refreshmen­ts in the hall.
