SOCIAL DANCING

Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music this Thursday, February 7, by Southbound, 14th Jack Ryan, 21st Delta Dawn and 28th Bandit. All proceeds in aid of handball clubs new build, all welcome and refreshmen­ts will be served.

PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES

The Mobile Library will be in Grantstown Daycare Centre on Wednesday, February 6, from 3.10 p.m. to 3.40 p.m. If you would like to join, membership is free. You can pick up an applicatio­n form here in Grantstown Daycare Centre. It’s not just books you can borrow from Wexford Library, there are also e-Books and e-Audio books. If you’re already a library member, you can collect a reserved book from the Mobile Library.

21 DAY WALKING CHALLENGE

For health benefits adults need to be active at a moderate level for at least 30 minutes a day on five days of the week. With that in mind, we would like to invite you to join our residents for a walk in the Bannow-Ballymitty GAA ground at 9 a.m. every morning. You can walk at your own pace, or you can walk on your own and record how long you walk each day for three weeks. Challenge yourself to increase your walking time each week. Let’s see how many miles we can walk collective­ly in 21 days. We have record cards which also contain some useful advice on how to get started. You can get one by calling to reception at Grantstown Daycare Centre.

COFFEE MORNING

Senior citizens Concern CLG are holding a coffee morning on Tuesday, February 19, from 9 a.m. to midday in St Louis Day Care Centre. Proceeds in aid of the Day Care Centre.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Next monthly meeting – Monday, February 4, in ST LOUIS Day Care Centre. Start 2.15 p.m. This will be our AGM Come along for a chat with new and old friends over a cup of tea and a bun. New members always welcome. Just a reminder yearly membership fees of €20 per member due by end February, this yearly fee includes insurance cover and we also subsidise many outings where we can. We are always looking for new members, so if you are 50 or over, why not come along and join us.

Afternoon Tea – This will be held in the Kings Bay Inn, Arthurstow­n, February 20; this will be a drop in from 2.30 till 4.30. Please make sure you have your name down and please pay your €10 at the February 4 meeting. This will be a chance for all to have a good chat and catch up on old times, the tea menu is mouth-watering. CAMPILE BINGO

There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing developmen­t of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximat­ely being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.
