Admitted motoring offences and handling stolen bicycle
FATHER of three Kevin Kinsella (24) from 54 Mount Carmel, New Ross admitted motoring offences at the District Court sitting in Wexford.
He also admitted a charge of ‘ handling’ a stolen bicycle, on which he was observed riding on January 1 last year.
Kinsella faced prosecution after the car he was driving struck another vehicle in the New Ross Tesco car park on a date in March of 2016.
Solicitor Gerry Flynn suggested that his client had experienced a difficult time in his youth, falling into substance abuse.
The defendant had now enrolled on a methadone programme, said Mr Flynn.
His client was convicted of a hit and run offence (fine €150) and of driving without insurance (fine €300), with a four year disqualification.
He was fined a further €150 for handling after the solicitor assured the court that Kinsella was not the person who stole the bike.
