COUNTY Wexford schools will be very well represented in this year’s Junk Kouture regional finals which will take place in Dublin in March.

The winning designs which have qualified for the regional finals include 19 entries from Co Wexford with schools in Enniscorthy being particularly successful.

One of the entries has already created its own bit of history as the Colourful Minds creation which will represent St Mary’s CBS will mark the first time a male entry from the school will have reached the regional finals.

The regional finals will take place at the beginning of March and the grand final is scheduled to take place in the 3Arena on May 2.

Commenting on the entries the Junk Kouture Operations Manager, Megan Kelly, said: ‘We were blown away by the standard and imagination of this year’s entries.’

‘We had more entries this year, which made the decision-choosing process even more challenging,’ she added.

The students behind designs that didn’t qualify through the initial round do have another opportunity to make it to the semi-final through a voting system available on app.junlkouture.com

The list of Wexford designs and schools they represent, through to the next round include: Too Hot to Handle; Haora Koura; Deja Moo; Factor 50; The Perfect Match; Legs Eleven; Hashtag No Filter; Bainne Dubh; Drakaina (all from Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy); Colourful Minds (St Mary’s CBS, Enniscorthy); Pick ‘n’ Mix, Video Star and Cardiac A Dress (both from Meanscoil Charman, Enniscorthy); Paper Reigh and Flatline (both from FCJ Bunclody); Cirque De Runway and Pyramid Scheme (both from Gorey Community School); The State Examination Polination (Creagh College, Gorey) and Jolie Petite Fleur (Coláiste an Átha, Kilmuckridge).
