COLÁISTE ABBAIN NEWS

Our under-14 hurlers had a brilliant time with Keith Rossiter from Outlart/The Ballagh and former Wexford player when he gave them a training session and talk as they prepare for their championship next week. Keith is now working as a selector with the Wexford Senior hurling team. Our lads really enjoyed their session and the future of GAA looks very bright in Coláiste Abbáin.

Our TY students had a trip to Leisure Max and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Thanks to Pauline and the ladies for their hard work in preparing healthy, nourishing and exciting menus for our students, their new healthy wraps went down a treat.

Well done to our History and Home Economic students who worked hard on their respective projects, it is lovely to see students engaging in independent self-directed learning and to be so proud of their individual creative work.

YOGA IN NEWBAWN

The yoga sessions continue in Newbawn hall every Thursday morning at 9.45 a.m. Beginners welcome. Please contact Ann at 087 9878182.

OVER-35S SOCCER

A massive 20, highest number ever, turned out in Grantstown on Saturday the ninth to have a go at the weekly kick about and in spite of the large numbers, the game was excellent where time on the ball was at a premium.

The older bibs again got the upper hand as they just seemed to be able to find space and killer passes on the odd occasion just that little bit better and with so many on the pitch, it made all the difference. Remember that games take place on Saturday evenings at 6 p.m., unless otherwise notified. The games are held indoor in Grantstown and newcomers are welcome. Please try to be there 15 minutes beforehand so we can kick off in the allotted time. If you’d like to come along or want further information, please give Dave Burke a shout by text or calling 086 8596627.
