ST VINCENT DE PAUL

The Tullogher-Rosbercon Chapter of St Vincent de Paul will hold their annual collection on Saturday/Sunday, December 7/8.

These people do tremendous work in helping out families and individual­s living alone and in need throughout the parish, helping with food, fuel, and household bills for those in financial constraint­s. The annual collection is the main source of income and all are asked to generous to what after all is our own charitable organisati­on.

Anyone, who is aware of a person or family in need in the parish are asked to contact any member of the committee, Séamus Waters, Mary B Conway, Catherine Cottrell, or Richard McElwee where the matter will be dealt with discreetly and urgently. There is also a help line which is 087 7140112 for any such emergency.

MASS CHANGES

New changes are coming for Masses in the parish as instructed by Bishop Dermot Farrell. The 9.30 a.m. Mass in Mullinarri­gle will continue as normal as will the 11 a.m. Mass in Rosbercon. On Saturday evenings, Rosbercon will have Mass on the second and fourth Saturday of each month while with the clustering of parishes, Glenmore will have celebratio­n of the Mass on the first, third, and fifth Saturday of each month.

On the Saturday of the first Sunday of each month Tullogher will have Mass at 7 p.m. the same time as those already listed. More details later.

PARISH HALL RENOVATION

In order to comply with the new standards of safety required by the Fire Officer and the health and Safety Legislatio­n Authority further renovation­s are needed in to the Parish Hall.

The works involve the constructi­on of Emergency Exit Access Ramps and the fitting of Safety Doors and Fire Shields. New Alarm systems and improved lighting are also on the agenda to compliment the tarmacadam which was put down on the forecourt earlier this year. The total cost of the project is an estimated €40,000 which has to be found in the future.

REMEMBRANC­E MASS

A Special Remembranc­e Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption Rosbercon on Friday, November 29, at 7.30 p.m. in memory of all who died from the parish in the past year (Nov2018/Nov2019) Everyone is invited to this memorial Mass which is organised by the parish council.

TAIZE YOUTH PROGRAMME

A Youth Trip to Taize in France organised by Ossory Youth will take place from Sunday, June 28, to Sunday, July 5, 2020.

Bringing people together is the essence of Taize and this is a week of meeting young people from different countries and cultures and where new friendship­s are made. The attendance at the event will be in the tens of thousands including 30 young people from Kilkenny.
