Bettie Burger Smit, 22 Lower George’s Street was put off the road for two years on conviction at the District Court on May 19 for a motor insurance offence.

The case against the 49-yearold followed after she was pulled up by Garda Barry Brennan at Barrack Street in Enniscorthy on September 27.

The motor tax on the vehicle she was driving appeared to have expired in June of the previous year and no evidence was produced to show that she had insurance cover.

The two year disqualification came with a fine of €200.
