A public order conviction for threatening and abusive behaviour was handed down at the District Court in Wexford on May 19 to Jerry Cash of 13 An Caisleán Maol, New Ross.

The judge was told how the defendant was discovered lying on the grass in a public place.

His feet were protruding out on to road when gardaí came to his assistance.

He was intoxicated and told them that he wanted them to die as he became abusive.

A fine of €200 was imposed.
