The Grand National is once again a distant memory of thundering hooves and teetering stilletoes, and that marvellous finish between Tiger Roll and the dogged Perfect Company.

That means the Jump season is winding up save for the big Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown meeting (formerly the Whitbread) on April 28 which sadly fell between editions of Racing Ahead.

Then it’s on to the Classics season on the Flat with the Guineas meeting at Newmarket on May 5-6. That’s followed by the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 19.
