Racing Ahead

she’s more than able

ENABLE will thrill her fans at least one more time when she runs in the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs on November 3.

That could be the last time she sets foot on a racecourse and would be a fitting end after her heart-stopping win in the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe.

Having just her second start of the season, she was all out under Frankie Dettori to hold off the fastfinishing Sea Of Class and Jamie Doyle who had to come from dead last turning into the straight.

It was a brilliant effort by both fillies and a fitting end to the first Arc at the new Paris Longchamp course.

After winning the race for the sixth time, Dettori said: “I had the world behind me – everyone wanted her to win – so you do feel the pressure.

“Things went according to plan in the race. I found myself in a fantastic spot.

“As we came into the false straight the life in the old girl came back - I knew then we were in business.

“I waited as long as I could and when I said ‘come on girl let’s go’ the trademark turn of foot was there. She put the race to bed then. The last 50 yards the poor girl was tired. She wasn’t the Enable of last year but she got the job done.”
