Inside the Star-Studded Wedding Reception of Fiona and Jason Connery
Actors Saoirse Ronan, Ray Winstone and Charley Boorman were among the famous faces at the wedding celebration of Fiona Ufton and actor/director Jason Connery in Edinburgh recently. Jason first made a name for himself in the British TV series, Robin Of Sherwood, in the 1980s, and is the son of legendary James Bond star, Sean Connery, who passed away in
October 2020.
Fiona is from Greenhills, Dublin, and she and Jason officially married in Scotland in April 2021 with just two witnesses present. They were delighted to finally throw their fabulous reception party two years later at Edinburgh’s historic Signet Library.
The gorgeous event also celebrated Jason’s 60th birthday.
Saoirse attended with her partner, Jack Lowden, who played the title role in the 2016 film, Tommy’s Honour, which Jason directed.
Also present was his only son Dashiell Connery, 25, who recently starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in the TV series, Tulsa King. Jason is very close to his stepmum, Micheline Connery, 94, who made the journey from the Bahamas, accompanied by her children and grandchildren.
Jason’s Robin Of Sherwood co-stars were also out in force, including Casualty actor Clive Mantle (Little John) with his wife, Coronation Street actress Carla Mendonca; Ray Winstone (Will Scarlet) and his Irish wife Elaine; Judi Trott (Maid Marian) and Mark Ryan (Nasir).
Other Irish guests included author Maria Duffy, journalist Andrea Smith and designer Helen Cody. Helen made Fiona’s silk grosgrain, bell-shaped dress, which she paired with a pearl headpiece from Irish milliner Laura Kinsella, and blue Manolo Blahniks.
When they began dating in 2016, Fiona was lead singer with the band, Alter Ego. She and Jason now live very happily in the Bahamas and regularly visit Dublin and Edinburgh.
