What a wonderful World
Another stunning book from Taschen has found its way to our shelves. Penned by Chris Nichols, Disneyland o ers an insight into the concept, development and launch of the original Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California (originally to be called Disneylandia). This rich visual history draws on Walt’s private archives, historical collections and reportage of the time to analyse how each of the immersive kingdoms came to be. Since it opened in 1955, more than 800 million people have visited Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Main Street, USA, etc. This is the story of how one man foresaw how 160 acres of orange groves and walnut trees could be developed into the entertainment capital of the world.
