Former world boxing champion, Bernard Dunne, who is the team manager at the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA) turns storyteller once again for the second season of

Bernard Dunne’s Mythical Heroes. He brings some more Irish mythological gures to life with a mix of live-action and animation in the new six-part series.

Among the new batch of stories are the ‘Fall of the Red Branch Knights’, the story of how a young woman called Deirdre brought about the downfall of the gang of warriors. en there’s the famous story of ‘ e Bull of Cooley’, when friends Rucht and Fruich turned into the two great bulls – the White Bull of Connacht and the Brown Bull of Cooley, which became the focus of Queen Meabh’s attempt to prove she was better than any mere man. en there’s the story of Fionn MacCumhaill’s aunt, Turien, who was turned into a dog by a jealous lover. She gives birth to two pups who later became Fionn’s favourites.
