Cathal (48) has the biggest health gain to make but his initial health status is shocking. Based on Professor Niall Moyna’s assessment, Cathal’s fitness measure is equivalent to an 80-year-old man – and I know many healthier 80-yearolds than Cathal. This is life and death stuff: Cathal has diabetes and he is the heaviest ever leader on OT. I have concerns that Cathal’s road to health will be hampered by layers of denial, self-defence and self-deceit. The truism for many people with a dysfunctional food relationship is that it’s not what you are eating, it’s what’s eating you. Then there is a deal of psychological work for Cathal if he wishes to succeed. He has two great reasons to finish the OT programme: his wife Agi and their daughter Maja (2).
