Jessie thinks her wedding to Marlon is cursed when she nds Monty devouring the wedding cake. Belle is supportive and manages to talk Jessie into going ahead with her big Christmas Day plans. Meanwhile, Sam and Marlon are kicked out of the Woolpack when Charity catches them drinking straight from the taps. The hapless duo staggers down the street and spot a delivery truck containing Charity’s alcohol delivery. They decide to have a quick nap and on Christmas morning, wake up in the back of the truck in the middle of nowhere and Marlon is forced to tell Sam that they need to get back to the village as it’s Sam’s surprise wedding day to Lydia – not realising it is also his own to Jessie. In the village, Lydia admits to not knowing where the grooms are and Jessie is downcast, thinking the day is ruined.

It might be the season of goodwill, but that isn’t the case for warring sisters Nicola and Bernice. A desperate Rodney tries to unite the siblings by inviting them for dinner, but things go sour when Liam dishes up tiny portions. Meanwhile, Bernice is fretting about her big birthday and she panics when she thinks that Diane has told Liam her real age. She is raging when she sees the salon decorated for her 50th and in a t of temper, bursts all the balloons. Forced to accept she is turning 50, Bernice agrees to let Kerry inject her face with Botox. However, the girls panic when Bernice has a reaction and is rushed to A&E where the doctor reveals that her face may be permanentl­y paralysed.

Matty is attacked by his former boyfriend and his mates outside the New Year’s Eve Party and the next day he con des in Cain, who is hell-bent on revenge.
