The Best of the Folk Awards

October saw the inaugural RTÉ Folk Awards go down an absolute storm in dublin, as it acknowledged the musical achievements of top folk and trad performers, not just from ireland but also further afield.

Performers from the night include iarla Ó Lionáird, Saint Sister, The Whileaways, Andy irvine, Christy Moore, The Lost Brothers, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and many more, as well as a special collaboration from Landless and poet Ann-marie Ni Chuireann, which was written as a celebration of 100 years since some women in ireland got the vote.
