Rainie is busy pining for Max’s attention, but she’s not getting much in return. Feeling helpless, she seeks another means of cheering herself up and goes to meet a drug dealer, but when Phil spots the dodgy exchange in progress, he interrupts and sends the dealer packing. Phil o ers Rainie a shoulder to cry on and after their conversati­on, Phil visits Max to let him know what’s happened to Rainie. Max apologises and invites her back home, but when they get there, a surprise awaits. Cora has decided to trust Max and Rainie with baby Abi for the day. While she’s alone with Rainie, Cora lets her know that she’s eager to move on and makes her a tempting o er, but Max suspects something is amiss. He asks Rainie whose side she’s really on and they row. The next day, Rainie is eager to share info about Cora’s o er with Max, but he isn’t in a listening mood. Hurt by Max’s stubbornne­ss, Rainie acts out by asking Cora to tell her more about the o er, but Cora seems to be in a foul mood too, and suggests that Rainie only cares about money and not about baby Abi.

Elsewhere, Halfway makes an appearance at The Vic, with a video from Stuart explaining his recent actions. Stuart makes it clear that he was wrong to do what he did to Fred, but when Halfway and the Carters discover that Mick already knew about Stuart, they are stunned. With Halfway’s help, Mick and Stuart make amends, but when they end up getting drunk together, Linda is less than impressed.

Martin is struggling to cope at home now that the Slaters have moved in. The Slaters are aware of the strain they’re causing and try to make it up to Martin, but after an incident between Lily and Ti any, he tells Stacey that enough is enough and they are going to have to go.

Meanwhile, Ian and Masood haven’t been having the smoothest of business partnershi­ps recently, and when Ian sees the state of Masood’s van he is annoyed, but he o ers a helping hand with the clean-up. Mel puts pressure on Ian to get Masood to move his unsightly vehicle. When Ian tries to trick him into moving it, Masood realises that he’s being manipulate­d and confronts Ian as Mel’s puppet. Nonetheles­s, the pair decide to focus on their food-truck idea and they head over to Mel’s with a propositio­n. Ian suggests he and Mel go to dinner to talk business, and he lies to Masood again to try to make the date, but when Mel and Jack arrive to drop Amy o Ian realises he’s been played – he’s babysittin­g while they head o on a date.
