1A

movie that always makes me cry…

Casablanca (1942). Every single time. Because it’s got everything, doesn’t it? It’s a love story, a political espionage thriller, a war movie, a comedy and, in parts, even a musical. What’s not to love?

2

The fi rst movie quote that springs to mind…

“I’ll think about it tomorrow” – Scarlett O’Hara. It works a treat for me.

3

A movie I always associate with my childhood…

The musical Oliver! (1968). Somehow, it always seemed to be on telly over Christmas, so I grew up wanting to be one of the dancing orphans who drank gin and went pick-pocketing around the streets of London. A perfectly normal aspiration for a ten-year-old, really.

4

The most romantic movie moment I can recall…

See above answer re. Casablanca (1942). It’s all the more romantic because they don’t end happily ever after.

5

The one movie I’m definitely taking to that desert island…

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969). Every line makes me laugh and it’s as fresh today as it ever was.

6

The movie scene that never fails to make me laugh…

Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in Some Like it Hot (1959). “I’m a boy, I’m a boy, keep telling yourself, I’m a boy.”

7

A movie I’m ashamed to admit I’ve never seen…

Blade Runner (1982); Die Hard (1988); and just about anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger. 8 My fi rst movie star crush… John Travolta in Grease (1978).

9

The scariest movie moment I can remember...

The evil stepmother in Sleeping Beauty (1959) scared the bejaysus out of the three-year-old me.

10The

actor or actress who will play me in the movie of my life…

Oooh, that’s a hard question! Dream casting? The mighty Meryl. But then, Clelia Murphy is my favourite actress!
