Carol: Can’t ever say goodbye

-

Carol’s emotional fragility around Robbie and Hayley’s growing closeness comes to a head this week as she surprises Yates by telling him she wants to leave with him. ere’s tension between the happy couple too, as Hayley tells Robbie that Carol will continue to hinder their romance and make their lives di cult as she will always want to be close to him, and that he should encourage her to leave. Robbie, however, is adamant he can handle Carol, leaving Hayley perplexed. Nevertheless, Carol decides the time may have come to make a retreat.

However, there’s yet more dismay in store for Carol as Robbie takes a somewhat relaxed and detached view of her decision to leave and continues to strengthen his relationship with Hayley. Feeling hurt and increasingly bitter, Carol tells Hayley that things between her and Robbie will fall apart sooner or later.

Carol isn’t the only one enduring heartache, however, as Doug is forced to confront the fact that Erica only has eyes for Darragh. Both he and Erica await their separate dates together, but neither of them have a particularly enjoyable time, which leads Doug to suggest that she should have gone with him instead. However, any hopes he had that Erica might be warming to him are quickly dashed as it becomes clear that she is irting with Darragh. e only person who can’t see this is Darragh himself.

Elsewhere, Cristiano is on cloud nine to have Jake back in his life, but Will is not quite so enthusiastic. Jake expresses concern that Will cannot be trusted, so Will attempts to convince him that he isn’t going to hurt Cristiano again. However, Jake remains sceptical.
