Shirley’s surprise return

Linda is unmoved when Tina, Whitney and Halfway try to persuade her to visit Mick in prison. e trio tell her that Stuart is lying and Mick is innocent, but she refuses to hear their pleas. A frustrated Tina confronts Stuart at e Vic, and causes a scene, and when Linda asks Stuart to stay, Whitney defends Mick as well. In an e ort to further ingratiate himself with Linda, Stuart tells her that things could still work out between her and Mick. Wily Stuart doesn’t count on Shirley making a surprise return, however, and has some harsh words for her daughter-in-law. Shirley then pleads with Phil to convince Ritchie to represent her son again, which he agrees to do. e matriarch then returns to e Vic and proceeds to chuck Linda and Stuart out, but it’s not long before Linda worms her way back in.
It’s not happy news for anyone at e Vic, as Kat ditches her cleaning shi and downs some drink instead. She’s got good reason – a er contacting Al e to discuss what happened last week and begging to see the kids, she discovers that she has been lied to. All’s not well for Ruby, either, when her SOIT o cers tells her they’ve found a photo of her and Matt kissing. Martin, who gave the picture to the police, starts to panic and asks Kush to cover for him. Ruby tells Stacey that she is dropping the charges because of the photo, and Stacey demands answers from Kush. A contrite Martin admits that it was him who sent the photo. Stacey is not happy about this news, and invites Ruby round so that Martin can confess.
