Mandy comes clean to Darren about the baby possibly having spina bi da. Darren is upset that Mandy would hide something so serious from him. Mandy tells him that she has arranged a scan to determine the baby’s condition, and he is reluctant to attend with her. However, a er a heart-to-heart with Nancy and Jack, he decides to go with her. Unfortunately, it’s not good news. e doctor con rms that the baby does indeed have spina bi da. Darren and Mandy decide to share the news with the family, and everyone bands together to o er support. Elsewhere, Sinead is still disappointed about how badly her bid for the teaching job went, so when Laurie has lunch with Sally and the governor, Sinead intends to disrupt proceedings. ankfully, she has a change of heart, and instead sets out to impress them by suggesting that the teachers take part in the school’s nativity play.
e suggestion goes down well, but Sinead is in for a shock. DonnaMarie recognises Sinead and it turns out she knows that Sinead used to be a sex worker. Morti ed, and scared that the truth could destroy her career as a teacher, Sinead insists that she doesn’t know who DonnaMarie is and hastily takes her leave. Not one to let gossip go, DonnaMarie stands up on the stage at the school and proclaims to everyone the truth about Sinead.
We also get a glimpse of Breda’s past, as we see what set her off down her murderous path. Back in the present day, Mercedes sets about getting her late fiancé Russ’s body released so that she can move on with her life. Still unaware that Breda was the one who killed him, Mercedes gladly accepts an invitation to spend Christmas with her, Goldie and Sylver. Sylver takes the chance to comfort Mercedes, and they share a passionate kiss. It’s not all happy families though, as Mercedes is not keen on spending time with her cousin, Goldie. Meanwhile, Prince is still anxious about the lump he found and he’s not keen on getting his test results.
e police reveal that they have information about Russ’s killer. Will Breda nally be held accountable for her dark deeds?
