New Year, new skin regimen

-

Facial peels can transform skin, but it is tricky to balance the strength of the peel with sensitivity. is is why most people get it done professionally at a clinic, but even then it can be hard to gauge the skin’s reaction. Elizabeth Arden has created a reliable at-home peel that is both e ective and gentle, and works over four weeks of nightly application. e Prévage Progressive Renewal Treatment resurfaces the skin by exfoliating cells and enhancing natural skin turnover. Each week, the formula gets progressively stronger, allowing the skin to adjust to the increasing levels of the active elements, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and polyhydroxy acid (PHA). e PHA used is less irritating and more moisturising, meaning less drying, aking skin and redness. A powerful antioxidant, ibedenone, is added to protect the skin from environmental aggressors. So what can you expect? e rst week, skin is more radiant as the top layer is sloughed away. In weeks two and three, pores look re ned and ne lines are less prominent. By week four, the overall tone of the skin is more even and deep lines are so ened. Sandra Burke, beauty advisor at Arnotts in Dublin, says that it is very important to use SPF factor 50 daily to protect new skin from sun damage. Prévage City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Hydrating Shield, €65, is also tinted so you can leave skin foundation free while treating. Priced at €230 for a month’s supply, this treatment is recommended twice a year. Available at Arnotts exclusively until January 28 and then nationwide.
